How to Change Your Business Address on Google Maps

Moving your business to a new location? A Google business change address helps customers find you at the right place and prevents confusion. An outdated address can result in missed visits, poor customer experiences, and lost business.

The good news is that you can update your address through your Google Business Profile. Follow these simple steps to make the change.

Change Your Business Address

Google Business Profile → Edit Profile → Location → Address → Save

Start by signing in to the Google account that manages your Business Profile.

Search for your business on Google or open Google Maps. Select your business profile and click Edit profile. Next, open Location or Business information, depending on the options available.

Under your current address, select the edit option. Enter your new street address, city, postal code, and other required details.

Check the map carefully. Google may show a map arrow or location marker for your business. Move the marker when needed so it points to the correct building or customer entrance.

Review the information and click Save.

Google may review the change before it appears publicly. You may also need to verify your new location. Follow the verification instructions displayed in your Business Profile.

Check Your New Location on Google Maps

After submitting the Google business change of address, search for your business again on Google Maps.

Check whether:

New Address → Map Marker → Business Name → Directions

all display correctly.

Also review your business hours, phone number, website, service area, and other profile information. Accurate details make it easier for customers to contact you and reach your location.

What If You Do Not Have a Customer-Facing Location?

Some businesses travel to their customers instead of serving them at a physical storefront. If your business qualifies, you can use a service area instead of displaying a physical address.

This can work well for plumbers, cleaners, repair professionals, landscapers, and other service-based businesses.

Keep Your Business Information Consistent

After changing your address on Google Maps, update your website, social media profiles, directories, invoices, and other important listings.

Avoid using misleading addresses, keyword-stuffed address fields, or locations that do not represent your actual business. Accurate information helps customers trust your profile and find you without unnecessary problems.

A properly completed Google business change of address keeps your online presence accurate and gives customers clear directions to your new location.
